Our Railway Dream
Introduction of the Railway Institute of the University of Conakry in Guinea
On April 12, 2021, with the support of SMB-Winning Consortium, the University of Conakry, Hunan Technical College of high-speed railway and Winning Consortium launched West Africa’s first railway institute, the University Railway College of Conakry, which offers five courses: “Rail Transport”, “Railway Locomotives”, “Railway Vehicles”, “Railway Signalling” and “Railway Engineering”.
Additionally, SMB-Winning Consortium has spent approximately $7 million to construct a practical training base for the railway institute. The base is equipped with state-of-the-art switches, track sleepers, locomotives and rolling stock, as well as train control technology and dispatch control systems, providing students with a place to learn and train more visual and more effective.
The Railway Institute aims to train Guinean railway professionals for Guinea by providing them with first-rate basic training in the field of railways and by involving them in the ambitious historic mission of constructing and developing Guinea.
